SCOPE

Create a consortium of technology companies, textbook publishers, and K-12 educational institutions in conjunction with
The Center for Information Technology & Management to study the transition from hardcopy to electronic textbooks for K-12
education in Texas.

GOALS

  • Determine best practices for an electronic textbook implementation
  • Show viability and feasibility of electronic textbooks
  • Leverage existing expertise and technology to help move this idea from the drawing board into the classroom
  • Create cultural change – attitude of acceptance rather than resistance
