Wrapping the Business Case around New and Emerging Technologies

The objective of the Center for Information Technology and Management is to perform business and technology driven projects for and with its Partners. These efforts usually involve business outsourcing of graduate students and/or faculty from UTD. All projects address real-world needs identified by the clients. The Center actively seeks clients from industry and government who are interested in the application of Information Technology and Management to their respective sectors. Package Verification System for Dell Computers, Austin Texas
UPS World Wide Logistics Group

An automated scanning system that will improve the accuracy of package deliveries and provide additional functionality to the user. The system will have the ability to upload and download data and program to data collectors currently being used.

American Airlines Project Portfolio Management Tool (AAPPMT)
American Airlines

Design and implementation of a working protoype of a relational database containing the elements necessary too document project data, and track projects through the AA Phase Gate Model. The database will facilitate the analysis of the strategic mix of projects

Engineering Change Management System
Texas Instruments

A WEB-enabled program for combining several single-change inputs into one mutiple-change input for specific part numbers based on users target schedule, priority and existing change inputs for that part number. Additionally, a WEB-enabled database allowing easy input and tracking by project managers, package designers, procurement, process and manufacturing engineering.

Law Enforcement Training Study
North Texas Crime Commission

A law enforcement training study designed to capture the training needs of local law enforcement agencies in the Dallas Forth Worth Metroplex. The survey. The survey is intended to be an initial effort designed to identify immediate, 2-year and long-term training needs of each agency. The solution will feature a Web-based survey tool accessible from a standard internet browser with a back end database to collect and store responses.

E-Plan Commercialization White Paper
EPA Region 6 & Emergency Prepardness Center (UTD)

A web-based information system that enables first responders to retrieve information critically needed in the initial stages of chemical emergencies. This system is the first Federally sponsored effort to provide facility hazards data to first respondents via a highly secure web-site.
