Our Focus - Enterprise Systems Integration
CITM provides infrastructure resources, including
our servers, test bed and DSS lab to support research, teaching,
and public outreach efforts. We work with our partners to develop
team projects for use in UTD courses and internships for students.
The SAP Users' Group
Exposing, educating and developing the next generation of enterprise
systems professionals.
The SAP Users' Group (SUG) at UTD was established in August 2004
and it has grown quickly from 36 members to 250+ members within
just a few months. The goal of SUG is to help its members broaden
their exposure to ERP/SAP related industries, technologies, and
people.

UTD Graduate Enterprise Systems Courses
We are partnering with The University of Texas at
Dallas to build awareness and increase the focus of enterprise
systems education within UTD. Working with the UTD Enterprise
Systems faculty, CITM trains professors on emerging technologies
and aids in the development of new courses of value to corporations
that would hire UTD students.
The courses included in the Enterprise Systems Concentration for
a Graduate business degree at UTD are:
- AIM 6338 - Accounting Systems Analysis and Design with
SAP
Using SAP or similar software, this course focuses on accounting
information systems as part of integrated enterprise systems and
modern systems analysis and design of integrated accounting systems.
Emphasis will be on integrated business processes and related
financial transaction flows, system analysis and design methods
in SAP with focus on configuration methods.
- MIS 6319 - Enterprise Resource Computing
SAP R/3 (Functional: Sales and Distribution, Material Management,
Production Planning and execution, Project Systems; Configuration:
Basic Organization Structure, Sales Pricing). This course provides
hands-on use of the system.
- MIS 6324 - Business Intelligence and Decision Support
Systems
Datamining, data warehouse, and OLAP using SAS and Microstrategy.
- AIM 6349 / MIS 6302 - Corporate IT Strategy and Management
Issues of strategic planning and control related to information
technology and e-commerce are discussed based on contemporary
case studies. Topics include strategic scenario planning for e-commerce
infrastructure, developing business cases for information technology
investment and valuation, and implementing the balanced scorecard
for IT project management.
- AIM 6379 *NEW* Elective -
ABAP Programming
This course provides a thorough understanding of the role of ABAP
programming. SAP's programming language, in the implementation
and use of enterprise systems. Focus on the course will include
complex report development, SAP query, dialog programming, ASAP
Objects, transaction development, EDI/ALE and BAPI development,
Business Add-ins (BADIs) and output processing.
